The Healing Legend of Canadian Mineral Salts
Harvested from Little Manitou Lake

A severe epidemic of smallpox raged among a Cree tribe in the latter 1800’s. In
the spring of one year as the remaining tribesmen journeyed on their way, three
of the braves became ill and  too weak to go any further. Near the edge of a
lake, their companions built shelters for the sick men and left them while the
tribe moved on. Crazed by fever, one of the men managed to crawl to the shore
of the lake to relieve his burning thirst and cool his fever. He lay along the shore
and drank deeply of the waters, bathed his face and body, however, was too
weak to crawl back to the shelter so he lay there until the next morning.

As the legend is told, the next morning he finds that the fever has left his body.
Renewed, he goes to his fellow companions and pulls them to the lakeshore.
There he told them to drink and bathe themselves until they too were cured. A
few days later the three braves caught up with their fellow tribesmen, who could
not believe that these were the sick men they had left behind. It took much
convincing for their fellow tribesmen to believe that they were not seeing the
ghosts of the three braves.

This legend of healing has continued to be shared and passed on through the
generations. Mineral Salts gathered from this lake reputed for such healing are
offered for your enjoyment and sense of wellness.
